How We Build Your Deck

Our crew digs deep footing holes, sets each post in concrete and attaches a ledger board to the house. Pressure-treated joists are hung on metal joist hangers for a solid, square frame.

You can choose pressure-treated or composite decking, and framing in pressure-treated lumber, Owens Corning Lumber Structural Framing, or Evolution steel framing from Fortress Building Products (a separate company, not affiliated with Fortress Solutions). We also repair and refinish existing decks, including resurfacing, staining, and railing repairs.

Areas we serve: Florence, Erlanger, Covington, Newport, Fort Thomas, Independence, Fort Mitchell, Union, Burlington, Edgewood, Elsmere, Cincinnati, OH, and towns across Northern Kentucky.

Very professional and answered all our questions. Sales man kept us up to date throughout the process & even messaged pictures of the work in progress.  They sent a double crew as our job was very large. They worked until dark & came back the next morning. They left the property spotless. We are very pleased. Highly recommended!

Deck FAQs

Do you offer free deck estimates?

Yes. Every deck project starts with a free estimate and a clear written proposal before any work begins. Call (859) 328-6338, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., or book online.

How long does it take to build a deck?

It depends on the deck's size and site conditions. A simple deck takes about 3 days, a medium-complexity deck about 4 to 5 days, and a complicated deck about 5 to 7 days. A high-end screened-in covered deck usually takes 8 to 21 days.

What decking and framing materials do you offer?

We build with pressure-treated wood or composite decking. For framing, we offer pressure-treated lumber, Owens Corning Lumber Structural Framing (an engineered composite), and Evolution steel deck framing from Fortress Building Products. Fortress Building Products is a separate manufacturer and is not affiliated with Fortress Solutions.

Do you handle deck permits and inspections?

Yes. We pull the building permit and handle the inspections for your deck, so you don't have to.

Do you repair or refinish existing decks?

Yes. Along with new builds, we handle deck repairs, resurfacing, staining, and railing repairs.

Who builds my deck?

Our own crew. Fortress Solutions is a family-owned Northern Kentucky company with more than 20 years of experience, and the same team handles the footings, posts, framing and the full cleanup and final walkthrough.

How do you build the deck's foundation?

We dig deep footing holes (about 42 inches on the job pictured), set the posts in concrete, attach a ledger board to the house and hang pressure-treated joists with metal joist hangers.

What warranty comes with a Fortress deck?

Our workmanship is covered by a lifetime warranty for as long as you own the home, and every project comes with a 100% satisfaction guarantee.
